Sunlight

It's amazing how the sunshine

Changes points of view

What was so old and tired

Now suddenly bright and new

It's like a blast of light

Can eradicate any storm

Maybe it's the brightness

Maybe instead just being warm

I could say that it's a reaction

Occuring biologically

But in fact I think

It's something deep inside of me

So shine on dear sweet sunbeam

Illuminate me with your rays

I'll spend my nights in slumber now

And frolic in my days

Don't leave me cold and lonely

Like you did before

Because when I'm without it

I always want it more

Just keep on shining brightly

Enlivening the world

And I'll be like the flower

Unbashed and unfurled

It's amazing how a mood

Can change with a new season

At least I like to think

That it's the true reason
