Better Off Without You

Left me laying on the ground
Spit on me as you walked away
You hoped that I would wither
That I'd somehow fade away

But this lily is resilient
Bred and grown alone in the wild
And for all your fancy talk
You're a just a spoiled child

So mock what you can't understand
What you're thankful that you haven't had to live
And instead of always receiving
Maybe you'll someday also learn to give

You assumed that without you
I'd shatter like a pain of glass
But I'm as always moving forward
While you're eventually asking for a pass

There's a truth now that I know
And I think that you always knew it too
When all is said and all is done
I'm so much better off with you.
